Cultures of Creativity Exhibition

The Nobel Museum illustrates a century of creativity . The first Nobel Prize was awarded in 1901. Since then, over 700 people have been honored for their work in physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, literature, peace and economics.

The Nobel Foundation commemorates the centenary of the Nobel Prize with the Centennial Exhibition 'Cultures of Creativity'.  The exhibition has been created in duplicate. One copy is on display in Stockholm, Sweden and a second copy is being exhibited around the world in 14 different international cities.

The 'Cultures of Creativity' exhibition presents short films and original artifacts to shed light on the following questions:

    1. What is creativity, and how can it best be promoted?
    2. What is more important in the creative process: individual creativity or the milieu in which the work is done?

Courage to think on entirely new lines, daring to question established theories, innovative combinations of insights from the different fields – these are some of the characteristics of creativity.  The Exhibition does not provide specific answers, but gives visitors the chance to think about these questions for themselves.

The exhibition grand finale will be hosted in Abu Dhabi by the Higher Colleges of Technology from October 2007 to January 2008.

It is planned that all 800,000 school and university students of the UAE as well as another 500,000 youth from the region would be able to visit the Nobel Museum in Abu Dhabi and interact with visiting Laureates, leading scientists and thinkers.
